Republicans need to see that we either have 9/11, a pandemic, katrina, unending wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and two economic meltdowns under republicans.

Republicans are toxic.

You have to go back to the Great Depression for a disaster of this magnitude.

Oh, and guess what? That happened under the GOP as well.

They cry "don't politicise this" because they know that what is happening is at least 80% political. Political choices not to have a single payer health care system, to cut the budget for the CDC, to not have paid sick leave in the first place, to spend our surplus on tax cuts for people who don't need it, to race-bait instead of bringing people together... and on and on and on.

Republicans are low. They love to take credit for what they broke after
the democrats fixed it, claiming the democratic party broke it. We will survive.

by the GOP ignoring the warning signs, dismantling response mechanisms, and denigrating science in general.

The same thing is happening in nations with "populist"--that is right wing--governments. The US, Italy, and probably the UK being prime examples.

First we have a wave of right wing governments, then the widespread failure to anticipate and then cope with this pandemic.

A perfect storm, all around the world.

"Nightmare" situation - I don't even want to begin to consider the "what-if" without the BLUE WAVE of 2018!
It boggles the mind - IQ45 and McTurtle would have had us so far down the toilet that we can't imagine the fight to get our country back. It is already an incredibly serious problem that will take years to fix - and we must.
This is as serious as it has EVER been - we must GET OUT THE VOTE!!!!!!!

And people still refer to them as fiscally conservative. HELLO PEOPLE, there's nothing fiscally conservative about running up credit card debt and bankrupting the nation.

Moscow Mitch and that twerp from Wisconsin did a good job of weakening everything President Obama tried to do that would help the people of this country. They also saw to it that the courts system was able to fuck us over, too. Looking at you, John Roberts, you fucking corporate whore.

I think it's because the oligarchs who own the party have been able to do the following:

1. Influence the rednecks, evangelicals, etc. much easier with their powerful Fox News Department of Propaganda

2. Utilize a one dimensional reality TV actor to mesmerize the rednecks, etc. (Reagan 2.0?)

3. Turn the GOP into a cult (The Republicult)

4. Legally funnel large sums of money into buying even larger tax breaks for themselves and corporate welfare for their revenue streams

5. Outright buy the help of foreign governments in interfering in our elections

6. Outright buy DOJ policy, judges at all levels of government, and judicial judgments at the highest levels of government
