... from the rest of the world.
I understand the differences in Iran leadership and the United States but the common population of that country cant control their political leadership anymore than we can control ours. They are no less human.
To intentionally block aid and medical supplies to a country ravished by Coronavirus is nothing short of mass murder.

(22,124 posts)really what's keeping this medical aid going to them (humanitarian in nature)?
I suspect by now the WHO is pretty overwhelmed now and I think it's getting to the point that it is every person/country for themselves.
I thought most sanctioned items were non-medical in nature. Perhaps the leadership in Iran papered (like China did) over/hid the magnitude of the affiliation from the world, being that it hit pretty hard in Qom, the primary city of the Mullahs operate out of.

(58,785 posts)is a completely invalid excuse for citizens of a democratic republic. Nor is "I believe my leader because he's a good man" a valid excuse for supporting wrong at any time in any place.
Interestingly, political scientists have found that not only do bad leaders corrupt their followers from top down, but bad leaders are also corrupted from bottom up by bad followers who want and/or positively reinforce bad behavior, instead of producing backlash. A synergy that leads to mass evil.
We have to choose politicians for good character first. And of course, first figure out what that is. It's not promising us the world. And if a wannabe leader is lying or otherwise behaving badly and that behavior attracts people who also behave badly -- take pictures to document and run the other way.

Why couldnt they at least ring the alarm? Were they bought off, threatened with their life, or did they feel the risk of public humiliation wasnt worth it?
