So Warner Brothers Studio in Hollywood has shut down, per my daughter who works there.

She's the head of the costume department, a huge profit center for the Studio. They house a vast number of costumes which they rent to film companies and (I think) oversee the wonderful costume museum(when they are open again it is worth a visit if you are in L.A. and have time for a visit and is where I was "given" my Oscar!).

She said they "could" sew those much needed masks as they have a workshop. But, again, congregant situations involving close contact of workers. Sigh...

I didn't ask what will happen to shows that are currently taped there such as "Ellen." I was too engrossed in talking about her family. Her husband is a gig worker, as a drummer for a local band and all their gigs such as wedding, bar mitzvah parties, dances, etc have been cancelled. My grandson's school is of course closed. They are all healthy at present, thank god.

She doesn't know how long Warner Bros. will pay her. Let's hope WB has enough resources and the humanity to continue to pay her and other workers there to support their families.

I have several Costumer friends in the LA area who are out of work.

I work from home and my sewing schedule is doing okay being that I do Period clothing, Cosplay, Fantasy, etc., that is keeping me busy. I have a faithful group of clients who come to me regardless. Nor do they want me to retire.

When a place like Warner Brothers shuts down, the ripple effect must be huge. Plus my son in law totally in the gig economy, sheesh!

that follows that references the show apparently returned after canceling last week with the host and several guests all linked skype-like from their homes to broadcast on AMC. It was bizarre. Even more so than some of the satellite hook-ups cable news has been trying to use. I probably would not have watched, but I found it sort of fascinating.

Just him in front of a white screen, no audience.

Still as funny as hell like usual, but still...unnerving.

She is so talented she sewed her sister's wedding dress and all the female attendants' dresses. Her sister is aware that her wedding dress is invaluable (unlike Melania's $140 grand designer dress). Some things are invaluable by their very being. I doubt if Melania would ever "get" that concept...

In a finance department. We are working remotely right now.

The studio lot is shut down. No productions are happening although when I went in on Friday to pick up a few things there were cars around the post production buildings. Also the tours have been shut down until this thing is over.

I'm pretty confident the studio will remain solvent. As you know, we are now owned by AT&T.

Editing to add that I realized I know your daughter. Her husband played drums and percussion on a bunch of my recordings and some live shows.

I was impressed with the sheer size of its campus. We went around in one of those little carts they use to get around and it seemed vast to me..
