Watch Chris Murphy (D-CT) explain how republicons hijacked the COVID-19 relief bill process

By turning to K Street lobbyists on Sunday to pork out on the $2 trillion bill.

I’ve heard good stuff from Manchin (D-WV) and others today. However, Murphy’s afternoon speech stopped me in my tracks as he did a good job of describing how broken the republicons’ priorities and process has been in response to the crisis at hand.

I’ve loathed their panicked and coercive antics about how we — the people who side with fairness/Democrats — must accept a bill of solely their liking. Is one that would disproportionately benefit the top 1%. They already gave their wealthy donors handouts with the tax cut bill, and yet, here we are again being asked to fall for another trickle down hustle during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pay the rich, or you won’t get anything essentially boils down to extortion.

What he’s done (or not done) in response to this crisis is what’s important.
