1. Here in Illinois, we are considering a mass release

of low- level offenders. One employee and now two inmates have tested positive and are ill in one prison, so what was being considered will probably happen soon.

3. They're not releasing every prisoner

Just low-level offenders. I don’t think they are going to endanger the public. It’s why they’ve waited. But it’s cruel and inhuman to keep petty thieves locked up in crowded conditions when a potentially lethal pandemic has already hit the prisons. They need to thin out the population, judiciously, and observe social distancing.
