COVID-19 pandemic compared to 1918 Flu and the Black Death.

So far the COVID-19 death rate is averaging about 200 per day over 83 days.
It is still early days in most parts of the world so the average may grow higher and we don't know how long it will last.
Still many lives are saved due to modern medical care.

The 1918 flu which killed 20-50 million had an average death rate of:
18,000 - 45,000 deaths per day over 3 years

The Black Death (1346-1353) killed 75-200 million had a daily average death rate of:
30,000 - 80,000 deaths per day over 7 years

It's kind of amazing that human society survived with these kinds of numbers, but they did.
