(3,276 posts)to get my mail (long story about main post office in a rural county and living too close to the PO for delivery), but yay for them being there, as I have some mail-order meds I depend on.
Republican beliefs to the contrary notwithstanding, they are a necessity of life.

(32,609 posts)Have a cleaning station on the front porch just for the mail. Stopped cleaning my newspaper - I just throw it away.
Eta: Our mail man does not have hand sanitizer. He just has some spray that was issued by the USPS. His comment the other day: "Leave it to the post office to come up with this".
He has no idea what it is.

(42,862 posts)... and he'll wait for several days worth of mail before using one pair of gloves on a large stack of mail. He opens the mail outside... tosses the catalogs and junk and pennysaver stuff. Opens the rest and leaves the envelopes in the trash.
Is there a better way to clean the mail?
Are you just being cautious or do you know for a fact that mail can be contaminated?

(25,853 posts)Get a grip people. If that were true, then post office workers and all of the delivery service employees would be getting sick in vast and obvious numbers.
