this really does feel like the definition of insanity - doing the same thing over and over and

expecting different results.

For over 3 years - THREE YEARS - all of us here have read countless Op Eds from learned people - in the Times, the Post, here at DU, TPM, Slate, and on and on - and they ALL basically say the same thing. Our president is insane, and/or immoral, and/or dangerous, and/or a narcissist - pick your adjective. Though I don't watch TV, I read here of endless wonderfully done commentary by the few in the media with brains and guts (Rachel Maddow and others).

Yet we also learn the power of propaganda, of hubris, of ignorance. There is a deadly virus taking more and more people, infecting more and more Americans - and the lock step right wing has the messaging totally in control to the point of an increased popularity of asshole trump in the face of him dissing experts.

I don't get it - what is it? How can this be? Putting money over humans, profit over health, willing to insult great swaths of "the other", willing to toss groups to death - to satisfy Wall Street?

I thought I've seen everything in my 64 years - this - THIS - takes the cake. Watching nearly half of the country believe in pure self serving bullshit is breathtaking in its idiocy.

How to we get sanity back? Yes, the upcoming election - which we MUST win - but what will be left? Who will be left?
