I know we need to go grocery shopping, but if you can stay at home, are you? Or are you bored and go to Lowe's or HD, or...

Me, I am scared. I did go to Lowe's a few days ago, but only the nursery outside. I am lucky to have my so volunteer to shop.

I've been home for weeks. What about this is not to be taken seriously?

but I have a daughter working and a spouse who thinks that no rule applies to her. She visited all of the neighbors, is talking about going to wave at her aunt through the window of her nursinghome, is trading books with library buddies, and volunteering anyplace that will take her.

4. Other than

medical appointments, stock-up trips (grocery and Ace Hardware to get propane) and dropping off food to my lady's brother, we've stayed isolated. No friends, no family for about 3-4 weeks now. I did talk to my neighbor across the street, he stayed on his driveway, I stayed on mine.

Now, we're locked and loaded for the next 2-3 months, with the exception of using the drive-in window at the Kroger pharmacy.

5. I'm staying home in what might be an excess of caution.

the only place I go regularly in the winter besides the grocery store is a public pool in Tucson. they closed shop last week so that is done. husband usually does the feed store and we go to the hardware store occasionally.

I have some watershed meetings sometimes but our executive director's husband is very much high risk so those are being done via email or postponed now.

But this week I’m doing the curbside pickup. Order already placed although I can add/subtract for the next two days.

I bought some treats from Mud Bay today. Called it in, pulled up to the store front and called them. They dropped the bag in my trunk. I wiped the packages when I got home.

I’m fully working from home, as is Dh. Cooking 2-3 meals a day. I try to garden for a bit each day. Puppy still gets trained. Cats still want to play.

I have a bit of a cough. Throat started hurting a few days ago- not quite a sore throat, but it hurts a bit to suck air. So there’s that. No fever that I can tell, and I check it in the afternoon and evening. Bit of post nasal drip tonight. I’m barely over 50 and in good enough health so I’m not freaking out.

But yeah, keeping away from folks this week except Dh.

22. I am a hospice nurse. For now we are seeing patients who allow us in their homes

Some don't. We prescreen for Covid symptoms if they or someone in the home has symptoms we wear PPE. So far I have used no PPE. I am afraid we could be carrying the virus. So far no one on my team has gotten sick. They allow us to only have a few paper masks because our company can't get much. We just got the capability to securely do video visits for the families that don't want us in because of Covid.

When I am not working I isolate other than the grocery store or pharmacy.

So I have to say it feels weird. I am not like a front line medical in the same way that other nurses see people who are sick and are more likely to have the virus. So I feel like I am breaking "stay at home" because I go to people's homes. But, it's my job. But the amount of contact I have with people and the way I interact is probably similar to someone who is breaking the "stay at home" by visiting friends. Not sure if any of that makes sense.

We did a pickup of groceries from the supermarket once and are picking up our second order this Thursday morning. The clerk put the groceries in the bed of the truck. We never even opened a window but waved hello, goodbye and thanks.

Another day I dropped off a dvd at the library and mailed a bill in one trip. Wore gloves to fling the goods into the slots, tossed the gloves in trashcans right near the dropoffs and used hand sanitizer when I got back in the car.

25. Went grocery shopping today.

Other than that have been staying at home. Surprisingly Publix was not crowded at all. A lot of shelves were empty. I have enough essentials to last a while. Until about three weeks ago went out to eat every weekend with my son but it looks like that won't be happening again for a while.

26. I can't really - we're adding to the house and there are workers here everyday

I stay at a distance from the workers - don't need to provide extra exposure either way. My fear is that the work will stopped, either because all non-essential stuff will be stopped or because we can't get needed supplies. This week they are getting the roof finished and today they put most of the windows in (three had damage to the glass...).

I've been grocery shopping twice, so once a week. Lowes & Home Depot, I have shopped online - in fact I just got some things for the addition delivered by UPS today. That would have happened, virus or not, since these are items not carried in the stores.

My husband is going in tomorrow and I have some errands for him to run, so I probably will not go shopping myself this week.

27. Apart from my three closest friends,

Not seeing anyone much or going anywhere non-essential. My gang are like family and we are shopping for each other, and sharing garden produce. Between us we have four dogs and they are inseparable, so gotta take care of the kids by spending a lot of time on the (deserted) beaches.

Australia is on partial lockdown. My state, Victoria may be adopting rules very similar to the UK tonight. We're not as 'virulent' as the US but the gov. is making an effort to keep infections to a minimum. Crucial time for us is a week or so from now. So far, the infection curve is similar to the US in the early days of the virus.

Sis, I sincerely hope yourself and your loved ones come to no harm. My parents were pre-teens in Scotland during WW2, but I grew up learning about rationing (which didn't finally finish in the UK until 1954), and I can make a five course dinner out of half a potato, a turnip and a quarter ounce of lard!

31. Yep. Except to leave the house on foot for exercise each morning, we've not gone anywhere

since the SF Bay Area lockdown started. And I'm steering clear of the walker/jogger-heavy streets when I do that, and cross the street as soon as I see an oncoming person no matter how far away they are (fewer cars on the streets helps with that).

Thankfully a lot of companies were ahead of the local governments and started encouraging/enabling work from home very early, and so we only had 1 household member still going to their office by the time the lockdown was announced, and their telecommuting got set up on a home computer with help from their IT person (remotely) after a day or two.

We're a little gun-shy about the grocery store at the moment, to be honest. We're trying out ordering groceries on-line, recently placed our first order (not delivered yet), so we'll see how it goes.

Not wanting to go to our local nursery either, we're starting our garden with seeds (from packets, not saved) left over from last year. We ought to get a few more varieties, again on-line ordering I expect.

The garden needs lots of work, and we're engaging in more time consuming food prep (like bread baking) which we normally don't do, so we are not bored... yet.

34. I have been in since 3/15. I went out 3/18 to hit pharmacy and do the grocery shopping.

I forgot at least one thing with four recipes and I did not want to go out again. I did instacart. I do not want to go out and about. I might go for a drive tomorrow but has been cold and rainy so that is cool. I am good just hanging in my house. I take my dog on a couple long walks daily of course.

I was suppose to go back to work this coming Sunday and I really do not want to. Customer service. Boss called today and asked me if I want another week off. So, I am thrilled.

our small acreage in rural eastern Washington state with our farm animals and pets. We both last worked in town on 3/12. He was on the cusp of retiring, so went ahead and used up banked sick and vacation leave instead of cashing out, so, that's a little hit. I have been able to continue some work from home. One of my contracts is in the court system, and we managed to pull off Zoom court today. One shopping trip at a small local whole food store last week - gloved and masked up.

I'm curious what kind of financial hits people expect to take for this? I guess we are lucky we are at social security /medicare + pension age. I'm still working part time.

I binge watched the first two seasons of Ozark (again), and have been working in my back yard. I thought about going to Lowes to get some cabinet paint and sandpaper, but I didn't quite get around to it. No reason to hurry. I have plenty to do around the house, and if I don't feel like doing it, I don't.

I do miss hugging my grandchildren. That's the toughest part of this.

My wife did some shopping March 11 and we've been staying home ever since.

My daughter-in-law goes out 1 day each week to clean the interior of a school bus so it can be used to deliver food. After that, she follows the bus on its rounds, with her windows up. She has a protocol she goes through when she gets home to avoid bringing anything into her bubble.

Can't hug the grandchildren -- they self-impose a minimum distance of about 10 feet. A pre-schooler and first grader taking the coronavirus more seriously than the MAGAts.

Easy access to testing might allow these two bubbles to become one.

40. Went full lockdown, not leaving the house

since last Fri, Mar 20. If absolutely necessary we could stay in for a month. But I will probably hit the stores again at the two week mark, and build back up to 30 days supply, and do a post office run. We’ve also decided to get carry out once a week from a local restaurant to help keep local businesses afloat. But that’s it for now. Once a week to get carry out, grocery and post office every two weeks.

I'm on the phone every day with my offices in neighboring countries (NL, F, CH), and most every day with colleagues in Belgium and Spain as well, but I can't travel to any of them, which I usually do every week. Germany has now introduced strict regulations against contact, and those are in effect until April 19 at the earliest.

46. We have been quasi-isolating for almost 2 weeks now.

When I say 'quasi', the Mrs. and I haven't left our yard. Our 19 yo grandson lives with us and he runs errands for us. We have to get food somehow and having one person coming in and out with our groceries seems better than a) doing out grocery shopping ourselves, b) having complete strangers deliver our groceries, or c) having a stranger pick out our groceries and then load them into our trunk.

We have emphasized to him that if I get the virus it is pretty much a foregone conclusion it will kill me, since I have a compromised immune system due to taking Prednisone (a steroid) for my Pulmonary Fibrosis. He seems to get it.

If we need help outside we ask one of our kids (all grown) to help (ie., just do it). They are more than willing to come over, do the work, stick their heads in the door to say they are done, and leave. They know enough not to come in.

So, when I say we are doing our best, I don't know of anything else we can do between handwashing and trying to remember not to touch our faces. We're in out 70's but damn if we're ready to go. We both had parents and grandparents that lived into their 90's. I may not make it quite that long, but by God I want to at least be around until I can vote Trump and Moscow Mitch out of office this Fall!!

47. Have been isolating as much as possible.

I had to go out for groceries yesterday evening because getting grocery delivery has been impossible. I couldn't even get to check out, kept getting a message that no delivery windows were available for the next two days and to try back later. Tried for three or four days, and finally gave up. Wore a mask and gloves, and was glad that I did. The store was a zoo and people were not standing six feet apart, especially in the checkout lines. Saw very few people wearing masks, though a few more folks seemed to have gloves. I felt really bad for the checkers. They looked stressed and none of them had masks or gloves. Tomorrow I have to go out for cat food, but the pet store let me pay by phone. I can call them when I arrive, open the back of my car, and they will bring out the food and plop it in the car without us having any contact. I am in my mid sixties, have no one to shop for me, so I wish that the grocery delivery issue would clear up. My area must be slammed, because all of the grocery stores are hiring.

We are not currently expected to go back to work until near the end of April. Unless, Dump gets his way. I vote that he and the Lieutenant governor of Texas and anyone who supports them should be the first ones to risk getting infected. Let them work without protection in a hospital or other essential service, but without protection. Let THEM die for the stock market and so billionaires don't have to lose any money.

49. By both necessity and inclination I've been staying home, but until today my husband was not....

...convinced. I had knee replacement surgery 2/19, just under the wire for elective surgeries, tho I didn't know it at the time.

I couldn't convince my husband to stock up and he has one grocery store he really likes, and there wasn't anything I could do about it. He pointed out that our cleaning ladies were still entering the house, and I had an answer ready: I'm laying them off, with 1/2 pay for the first month. I think that surprised him, but there you have it. He readily conceded that my Physical Therapy appointments were a necessity, that was not even an issue, but still... He's just very sociable for a guy who works from home.

Then I think two things happened, one last night, and one today. Last night we heard Los Angeles Mayor Garcetti, Gov. Newsom, and Gov. Cuomo one after the other. It was very sobering.

Today he got word that the daughter of one of his colleagues who now lives in Utah is in the hospital fighting for her life, her kids are in quarantine, and his colleague can't even see any of them. (Hubby's work unit is spread all over.) Next call, a colleague in Idaho, who as it happens is also delivering groceries to Mr. Utah's parents these days. She told my husband in no uncertain terms to just stay home -- he's very much the old man of the group.

I think that finally got through; he's shocked and saddened. He's also now open to talking about grocery delivery services.

Self-isolation turns out to be fairly porous.

50. My pulmonologist chewed me out last week when I arrived

for my annual check-up. "WHAT are you doing here?" I told him I knew his office would take every precaution, and they did. The Wonder who manages the office phoned beforehand to change my appointment time b/c she was spacing the times out. As I approached the glass door of the office, I could see her wiping down chairs, doorknobs, etc. Both she and the doctor were masked and gloved. Besides, we're still in the early stages here and it's only going to get worse. Better to get into their office before CV becomes full blown here.

Tomorrow doing a quick run into the grocery store to replenish fresh items, then through the CVS drive-thru to pick up a script. That should put me in a good place for two weeks; then, rinse, lather, repeat.

Have no further medical appointments until July, and I'm loving it.

I'm Facetiming with family and friends, and not allowing visitors (who should be home anyway).

Which is the hotspot. Since the 12th, I've been out once, on the 16th, to take my husband to a medical procedure and while I was waiting for him (I wasn't allowed to stay at the hospital), a 5 minute trip to the grocery store. Working from home for the foreseeable future.

He's a retail manager in Westchester County, and his store closed on the 17th. He hasn't been anywhere since.

I'm a tiny bit concerned because I've had a cough, though not persistent, for a few days. No fever, body aches, difficulty breathing, or loss of smell. I do have seasonal allergies, though, and it mostly feels like that kind of cough.

A good friend is the front end manager at our grocery store and he's been doing our shopping personally and dropping it off at our door. When this is all over, I've promised to make him a great meal. Don't know why, but he loves my cooking!

Neither my wife nor I have left our property for the last ten days. That changes today as she has a time sensitive medial procedure that must be performed today. I am driving her, I will stay in the car and, when finished, come straight home.

I started bringing in extra groceries over a month ago, and my last trip 11 days ago topped off my food supply. I can still go another month without having to go out for food.

I live in Cape Girardeau County in Southeast Missouri, and the first case has been identified in the county. What's weird is they aren't reporting where at in the county. Is it in Cape, where I live? Or Jackson? Or was it rural? I understand not identifying the person who is 60, but it would be nice to know where he lived. Or should it matter? I'm sure more folks have the virus in the county, since testing just started here yesterday - if you meet certain criteria. Man, I'm full of questions this morning. Not scared, just cautious and concerned.

but it keeps me content. I am doing fine with this. BUT i do not get to see my grandsons before and after school!!!! I went by their house yesterday and we talked, with them on the porch and me in the driveway.

Going to the gas station (with gloves on!) seemed like an exciting field trip! I didn't even really need the gas, it was just something I knew I could do with little contact.

65. I have only been to a store twice in almost 3 weeks.

I didn't really want to, but I had unexpected needs - 1) liquid plumber and 2) laxative for my cat. I guess my stress has him stopped up! If he doesn't poop by tomorrow, I have a vet appt for him. Pray for poop! LOL

If we do go to the vet, they come to the car to get him, I talk on the phone with the vet, and they bring him back to me and take payment at the car.
