as long as you maintain social distancing. People are encouraged to get out and exercise, so walking along a quiet, nonpopulated beach should be okay.
It's party beaches, and crowded swimming beaches that should be closed. I should think anyone with an ounce of sense in their heads would avoid such activities, but they don't. So they should be closed.

Hunting island state park beach is open, with visitors center and nature center closed

I miss the cabins, which have long been lost to the sea.
