Looks like most of the Russian Medical and CBRN troops have been alerted to a "readiness exercise with a viral outbreak scenario". Significant engineering, MP and logistics forces activated to support them. Troops out at least in StPb, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Yekaterinburg.

In four regions of the ZVO, groups are created to solve the tasks of localizing emergency

In accordance with the decision of the commander of the troops of the Western Military District (ZVO), Colonel General Alexander Zhuravlev, as part of the readiness to solve the tasks of localizing emergency situations associated with the occurrence of the threat of mass infection and the spread of viral infections, groups of necessary forces are created in four regions on the territory of the district and funds.

The groupings will include formations and military units of radiation, chemical and biological defense forces, medical, engineering units, logistical support forces and units, military police units of combined arms and tank armies, the Leningrad Army Air Force and Air Defense.

Currently, the units are preparing to complete marches at military training grounds in the Leningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Voronezh and Kursk regions.

In total, about 1,000 military personnel, over 200 units, are involved in verification activities from the Western Military District. military and special equipment, including engineering and technical mobile chemical defense complexes, degassing military kits, automatic filling stations ARS-14KM, heat treatment machines of special processing equipment TMS-65U, complexes of field laboratories KLP-10, special engineering equipment, etc.

"Localizing emergency situations" - i.e. quarantine, closure, roadblocks, communications shutdowns.
