The president was slow to act on the crisis, thinking that barring anyone from China from coming into the United States somehow saved the county. The virus didnt observe borders, however. People beyond China contracted the virus and those came in contact with Americans or flew to the United States where the virus continued to spread.
Still, Trump refused to act, saying that it was nothing more than a flu. Even during a briefing yesterday, Wednesday, March 24, Trump, again, compared it to the flu and to car accidents.

We have a lot of people dying from the flu, as you know, Trump told reporters. It looks like it could be over 50,000, he said about the current flu season. He later had to clarify that he was talking about deaths from the flu, not cases, 50,000 deaths, which is a lot.

(7,411 posts)That was Ronnie Raygun's handlers realizing what Gorbachev was doing, seeing the handwriting on the wall and getting out in front to employ it for their own benefit. It was all show biz bullshit.

You can be sure they'll counter with false advertising about Biden and make false equivalence arguments.

In a tweet, Judd Deere special assistant to the president called it pretty disgraceful that @CNN and @MSNBC have both cut away from this @WhiteHouse briefing with @realDonaldTrump and @Mike_Pence during a global pandemic.
Deere continued, presumably with a straight face, Thank you to @FoxNews for keeping Americans informed.

(2,647 posts)And what is the equivalency between "politicizing" and "hoax" which the letter offers in explanation?
This is utter failure to state a case.
The letter's only real point is that the Bully-in-Chief thinks he now has friends on the courts and at the FCC who will punish broadcasters who run ads which bruise him.

(63,221 posts)look like? There is nothing false in that ad. Those were direct quotes. He doesn't have a leg to stand on. It's like his constant claims of slander when they play his clips of HIM speaking back to the public and he calls it "Fake News".
It's like, dude, that is literally you on film, saying what you are saying, so there is no way it could possibly considered "Fake News". That is YOU! Those are YOUR words. He is such a fucking moron, but there is still at least 30% of this country that will stick with him no matter what. God, help us.
