Unfortunately, it seems that most average Americans do do understand the mathematics behind exponential growth, particularly as this term relates to the spread of this virus.

It would mean a lot to the country if you would please use your Wharton education and general business knowledge to help people get a firm grasp on this phenomenon. Would you please explain this to the American people in a way that they could understand it? This term is being used a lot, and I think that nobody would understand this better than yourself, since you've probably used the concept countless times when projecting out revenues and cash flows for your multiple successful businesses. It would be a big help if the explanation came from an expert such as yourself.
