https://nypost.com/2020/03/25/woman-coughs-on-35k-of-goods-at-pennsylvania-grocery-store-in-very-twisted-prank/A Pennsylvania woman ruined an estimated $35,000 worth of goods by intentionally coughing all over them while the coronavirus plagues nations worldwide, a grocery store alleged on Facebook.
The woman visited a Hanover Township location of the small grocery chain Gerritys Supermarket before 2:20 p.m. Wednesday and coughed on fresh produce, a small section of the bakery, meat case and grocery items, the stores co-owner Joe Fasula wrote.
Authorities do not believe the woman, whose name is still unknown, is infected with COVID-19, but will make every effort to get her tested, Fasula wrote. The woman is also said to be a chronic problem in the community.
While there is little doubt this woman was doing it as a very twisted prank, we will not take any chances with the health and well-being of our customers. We had no choice but to throw out all product she came in contact with, Fasula wrote.
Gerritys Supermarket called cops immediately, and more than 15 employees worked with the Hanover Township health inspector to thoroughly clean and disinfect the store.

(52,219 posts)A New Jersey man was charged with making a terroristic threat after he intentionally coughed near a supermarket employee and told her he had the coronavirus, the authorities said on the same day that the Justice Department warned of similar threats to spread the virus.
The man, George Falcone, 50, of Freehold, N.J., was shopping for groceries at a Wegmans store in Manalapan, N.J., on Sunday evening when a worker asked him to move away from her and a food display because he was too close, the state attorney general, Gurbir S. Grewal, said on Tuesday.
The authorities said that Mr. Falcone leaned in close to the worker to cough and allegedly laughed, telling her that he was infected with the virus. Mr. Falcone later told two other store employees that they were lucky to have jobs, officials said.
Mr. Falcone was charged with making a terroristic threat in the third degree and fourth-degree of obstructing administration of law, Mr. Grewal said. Both charges are considered felonies in New Jersey.

(2,955 posts)Lock her up, we don't need these sick nutjobs out there making this panic worse. They need the harshest punishments to deter others. Personally I wouldn't be opposed to making this "cough on food for a prank" insanity a felony with a mandatory 25 year sentence.

(2,955 posts)Terrorism is pretty fitting for these acts. There's something very WRONG with these 'pranksters'. What they're doing goes well beyond the realm of a prank, and into the realm of terrorizing society for laughs.
