I'd much rather Trump kept his presidential pay.

I want Trump to take his presidential pay. That way we'd know that he knows he's a paid employee of the citizens of the United States of America, a public servant.

Currently, Trump gives his pay back to the government. Good? But then he repeatedly brags about it and acts like he's giving the country charity. Bad. Finally, he may think he's not "really" on salary and therefore not "really" a paid employee of us Americans. Very bad.

Frankly, it too often does seem like he thinks that he's not a paid employee of some of us Americans.

Trump takes our money, he works for us. Giving it away doesn't change that. Some reporter should ask him if he sees it that way.

1. He steals enough to make up for it.

Actually I have felt the same as you do for three years. He seems to think he is not our employee since he does not keep his salary. Notice however that he recently "donated" some of his salary to the fight against the virus. He can not donate what he never accepted. So he must have accepted it. Then there is also the amount we pay for his golfing.

2. I would guess he is not really giving

it away. Remember his so-called charities. The man cannot turn away from money. I have this “little” feeling he needs it, every penny.
