...t'will be restored post-haste, PG&E are on the scene, but a bit unsettling in these already unsettled times.
We have a fridge full that we cannot afford to lose now. It was difficult enough getting the food in the first place.
CV and fire season blackouts are not going to go well together, when the time comes.
EDIT: Power is back, it was thankfully brief. But it helped us to remember that we need to be even more prepared than usual at this time.

(10,200 posts)The first thought I had when the power went out was, "Well, at least there won't be a sh!tload of traffic going to the coastside that will delay PG&E getting here."
(1) Parking at the beaches no longer allowed, and (2) it's raining, so they won't try to come out like they did last weekend.

(146,308 posts)We have a couple of outages like that every year where I am in St. Paul. Usually it's some moron who has hit a utility pole with a car. They're always fixed in a couple of hours.
Even P.G.&E. gets that stuff fixed pretty efficiently.

(10,200 posts)that we used for the fire season blackouts to store food in the coolers. The coolers are out of the garage (aka the temporary disinfection center) and ready to go in the kitchen.

(3,011 posts)Spring storms are coming and the weather doesn't care about this virus. I've put food up (not much), but I'm really scared to lose it. It cost a lot of money and food is so hard to get already. I'm hoping we can get ice if our power goes out. We're always the last to restore because our lines only feed 6 houses. I'm thinking I will go twice a day to get fresh ice...morning and night...and hope I can save it.

(51,283 posts)Freeze a container of water and put a coin on top of the ice ...
If the power fails, and the freezer cannot hold temperature, the ice will melt and the coin will drop toward the bottom of the container...
It will then allow you to know if your food has been spoiled ..
I realize that this doesnt help right now for you ... but for next time
Hope your power gets back on soon.
