He wasn’t the Finance Minister for Germany - He was the finance minister for Hessen, a German state. It would be like the Treasurer of Kansas killing himself. The conspiracy theorists and Russian bots have been going overtime since the news came out trying to imply this was the result of mishandling of COVID-19 and some pending financial collapse and cover up and that it’s for all of Germany.

No, sadly, depression and suicide is a reality of the world and it’s more likely the sad ending of a man who had mental depression and family personal problems. If it has any relationship to COVID-19, it’s more likely no different than the current effect of stress of all going on around us and it sadly effects those more who are already suffering from depression.
