.@LisaDNews just asked Speaker Pelosi about House possibly remote voting.
Pelosi says, "There is no way we can engage in remote voting...Let's not waste time on something that is not going to happen."
Pelosi added that "way down the road" remote voting might be a possibility.

I really think she should rethink this, IMO.

(7,220 posts)I love Madame Speaker, but this is insanity. If there's a damn good reason to risk the lives of all these old people, and their families, and the families of everyone their families are in contact with, I've yet to hear it.

(18,770 posts)Not election voting online. We're not there yet (and when we are, I'd greatly prefer paper ballots).

It's a huge undertaking that states are nowhere near prepared for.

(38,326 posts)There are too many people in congress who would vote one way and claim another mumbling something about hackers.
What we need is transparent Personal Protective Equipment for congress people so we can keep an eye on them as they vote.

(29,222 posts)This is about House members voting from home electronically and NOT about how voters vote in their own states.
The problem is, I believe, a constitutional question regarding Quorum being present as well as rules regarding a "recorded vote".

(18,770 posts)It reads to me that Yamiche is referring to the House Of Representatives' members voting remotely.
