(1,040 posts)... not citations. The Health Department issued 200 letters to businesses who "need to comply with the order."
Kansas City is strengthening enforcement efforts, including patrols of parks and other gathering places (relative to people not practicing proper social distancing). Quinton Lucas, Kansas City's mayor (who reminds me so much of President Obama it's scary) refuses to either extend or shorten the current stay-at-home order date, because, to paraphrase his words, he does not want citizens to focus on a specific date, as if on such and such date "all is well" and we can resume business as usual. Smart man. Regarding businesses being "essential" he said, "if you have to ask if your business is essential, it's probably not."
He has been taking matters in hand (along with the Mayor of St Louis and other MO cities) due to the piss poor job being done by Missouri's Governor, Mike Parsons.
Here's his latest news conference ... worth a watch if you have the time.

I don't want him to die but I want him to understand how his actions have created a crisis.
