(75,852 posts)Greeley's golf course is a reasonably priced public course. It's not about rich guys wanting to play golf.
I'm not debating the wisdom of this decision, but here's why I think they ok'd it:
Provides some outlet for people stuck at home, &;
An activity where it's very easy to maintain social distance. Even playing partners can easily stay 20 feet away.
Now, if they allowed the clubhouses to operate normally, then forget about what I said. If they did that, they didn't think this through at all.
Again, I'm not defending it, but it's possible they actually believed this was something that lent itself to distancing.

(24,594 posts)Playground equipment is off-limits, but walking and bike paths are available. People are mostly maintaining distance, but still closer than most people on a golf course. If you don't share a riding cart, a golf course seems like a safe place to get a bit of recreation and exercise. Even better if you walk the course.
Now, if the course's clubhouse/restaurant/bar is open, that's stupid.
