JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - We have learned a third doctor and a nurse now say they have been fired after raising concerns about COVID-19 safety measures inside hospitals.
The doctors worked in North Mississippi facilities, two in Oxford. We talked with one of the doctors who has hired an attorney. She says she was fired within hours of trying to keep patients and her staff safe.
Another doctor worried there was not enough Personal Protection Equipment in her hospital

(4,150 posts)I'm an RN and work in a strong union environment. We receive fair wages for the work we do, and our benefits are generous.
In contrast, nurses in Mississippi are not union. They earn not a whole lot more than minimum wage, and they are treated like absolute shit. Of course money isn't everything. Nurses there are not respected either. I know, because I worked in the south many years ago and am perfectly aware of the working conditions down there.
