The dose makes the poison.

What's amusing is that the ACE2 receptor that SARS-CoV-2 uses to infect a person contains an atom of zinc. The healthier your ACE2 receptors the more useful they are to the virus.

Zinc in food sources or moderate doses as supplements (<40mg) is a fine supplement.

I certainly would not equate the two.
