You know, if Trump ends social distancing, there will be a grace period of about a week...

...when cases will still be flat or even declining. Of course, after the grace period ends, we'll be dealing with a pipeline full of incipient illnesses and deaths that will still happen even if restrictions are re-instated.

It's likely that about 2 out of 5 people in this country are too stupid to understand this.

You want to continue to self-quarantine, but Trump has told your boss "all is well."

So your boss makes it a choice whether you return to work against your best judgment and your will -- or you face being fired.

The rw is using every pretext to make this an extermination event and hurt the working class and poor to the greatest extent possible.

Without a State order, people will have to make a decision between a job and safety.

starting to occur. The "new, relaxed" CDC guidelines for employers/employees will be used to justify a rapid return to the workplace. Now personally, my work requires zero interaction with the public in general, so I'm not going to complain at all when I see all of those in the fields of health care, food distribution, trucking, essential infrastructure maintenance, etc., out there every day, but I don't want to put myself or my fellow workers in any kind of enhanced risk situation.

I'm just hoping and praying that expanded test capability by leaps and bounds is scaled up ASAP.

The ones that are Republican sycophants, I worry that when the infections and deaths continue, after they open up, they will skew the numbers to make Trump look good.

Which helps trump to say it's working. You can not be tested if you think you may have C-19. You also have to have known contact with someone who's tested positive.

My nephew works in retail and was sick. He was diagnosed with pneumonia. he was refused testing. He had no known contact with someone who tested positive or lived in a "hot zone."

Fuck this administration.

Our situation today has been determined by what we were doing around St. Patrick's Day. If Trump recklessly and arbitrarily "opens the economy" on May 1, we'll be seeing what a catastrophically wrong idea that is about May 18. Until then, though, Trump will strut and crow about what a brilliant, perfect solution he came up with all by himself. Then, when things turn to shit again, Trump will deny that his stupid order had anything to do with it.
