(24,478 posts)The future is a Single Party State, just like Russia and China. They really don't like democracy, just see how they try to stop it/obstruct voting. Power without accountability....that is the Republican endgame.

It's as if the doctors studied Trump before writing this list of diagnostic criteria. Although they did not.

2. They don't pay enough attention to realize it.
3. They are as childish as he is.(It's scary how many of these there seems to be.)

(7,538 posts)You know the list...only cares about himself...when disaster strikes his first impulse is to blame others and then find a way to profit off of other's misfortunes...believes that poor people are just too stupid to make money and are a crushing burden on them, the Randian masters of the universe...government is the problem...except when we're the government, of course.

(38,187 posts)Republicans never admit when they are all wrong or when one of them is wrong. They just keep going with being wrong until they convince just enough people to keep them in power, that they are right. Republicans never EVER admit it when they are wrong. That is why we are where we are right now. They get away with it. They have even made up "alternative facts" as a thing to validate their wrongness and convince just enough people that they are right anyhow. It is an endless cycle of stubbornness, stupidity, and refusal to admit when they are wrong. They are much like a spoiled child that is used to getting its way.

(9,069 posts)But I'm losing hope on this. They are killing 10's of thousands of people and merrily on their way to 100's of thousands. They are stealing every tax payers dollars hand over fist, stuffing their pockets and dry humping mounds of stocks. They are shredding our norms, traditions and the constitution.
We don't seem to have an actual breaking point. We use social media to cope and move on.
Think about the immigrants and asylum seekers stuck in cages and detention centers around the country. They were the outrage du jour, not so much now or even before the pandemic. We let it fade away to a large extent.
How much do we really actually care? I don't think we care as much as we say we do.

According to the book, Mulvaney used a quote from the New York Times bestselling book "A First-Rate Madness: Uncovering the Links Between Leadership and Mental Illness" by Nassir Ghaemi, a professor of psychiatry and pharmacology at the Tufts University School of Medicine.

(3,426 posts)Remember when Bush flew to Florida to campaign for a Florida congressman on one end of the state and a senator on the other end. So Bush flew in to campaign for the congressman and the congressman flew to the opposite end of the state to get as far away from Bush as possible. The senator did the same thing lol. When exactly I don't know but I can imagine how it will play out.

(46,104 posts)Germany was at its greatest when Hitler was in charge. I know firsthand. I was in the woods with dozens of Jaegers (hunters) singing Hitler fight songs. I was in the basement of a house with museum-quality Hitler memorabilia.
I predict that decades from now, you still won't get Republicans to admit they made wrong choices to follow Trump.

I have yet to hear someone mention that Trump is a blood German. I guess we are all too politically correct to join the dots?
Somewhere, I have a book called 'Trading with the Enemy', which documents the meetings between American bankers and Nazi leaders in Switzerland. The Nazis were still paying their loan interest to the US banks in early 1945.

Hypocritical as for decades, Trump and his father were telling the business community that they were Swedish.
