I wish I had photos or video, but I didn't know it was happening in advance.
One of our neighborhood kids is 18 today. His parents arranged a motor-parade around the circle with family and friends. People drove slowly and kept wide spaces between the cars with signs for him taped to their doors and honking their horns. A police car drove by with lights flashing and the cop belting "Happy Birthday" at the top of his lungs. Then a fire truck came along and they blew their horns.
Doesn't take much to choke me up these days. We need every moment like this we can get. Stay safe, my friends!

(50 posts)It was different, but I liked it, and it was a good way to celebrate with family and friends that probably couldn't have happened with a real party. It was right after Pennsylvania went on lockdown and there were things my parents were able to get that possibly can't happen now. Not ideal, but I'll hopefully have an interesting story to tell my kids about my 18th!
