Instead of one of my usual jerky posts, I just wanted to

offer a gentle reminder to PLEASE do your best to take care of your mental health while experiencing this stay at home situation.

Try to keep some kind of routine. Remind yourself that you are keeping yourself safe by staying home, and not only that, you are helping others to not get sick.

Some among us do not have homes. Do your best. Remind yourself of the good things you have done in your life. Affirm daily that you are a good person.

Stay hydrated. Eat as well as your situation allows.

It's very easy to become depressed in situations like this. Recognize this fact, and try to head it off.

When you make it through this, you can view it as a victory in your life.

Sincere good wishes and goodwill being sent to all of you. Do the best you can with what you have.

Not just texts. We can't touch, but we can talk. Hearing another voice is so loving...

Also, we can hear if the other person is feeling okay.

I've been staying in contact with people. I find that some don't feel like talking due to stress. In that case, we text.

Today, I received texts from 2 people that I have not heard from in DECADES!

"experiencing this situation... depressed..."

These 4 weeks have been a hyper-condensed version of the horrible things we've been going through in the past 3+ years. And, yes, it is getting to us, as is normal some more than others.

You've been charming and whimsical always, but this straight-from-the-heart post is the max.

LuckyCharms.

It's very easy to become depressed in situations like this. Recognize this fact, and try to head it off.

When you make it through this, you can view it as a victory in your life.

Yes, it is, especially since it's our first time dealing with Stay at Home being mandatory.. and when we do go out it's masked and wearing gloves and sanitizer.

Fortunately here on Kauai we're able to go out for exercise.. walking or running, and swimming as long as it's social distancing. I'd be a mess if I couldn't go out to run every day. there's no one around just green grass and Sunshine.

StaySafe&Sane!

WELL worth repeating. ( THERE! Why, I just did it, myself! )

These are all good tips, LuckyCharms. And your reaching out like this with genuine concern - that's the best.

Thanks. Again!

Our sociable DIL and son have "gone to" several Zoom parties now. Aside from the controversy about Zoom itself, people are using it as a way to get together.

Since without a vaccine a party for my husband's 80th birthday party this fall will not be possible, she suggested we get together this way. A nice plus is that friends far away can be there too.

Btw, a vaccine researcher said they were hoping to be able to provide a vaccine early next year. Just a goal at this point, but...! People around the planet are working on it.

Stay well. Cavalry's coming.

The challenge in our home is, as you noted, keeping a routine. Our circadian rhythms have been disrupted by remaining indoors during the day. We’re on our cat’s “schedule”: sleeping when tired, eating when hungry (within reason), day or night.

But we’re well, safe, and grateful for what we have.
Thanks, LC.
