Update On That Nursing Home

My BiL was there in January, so we've got a personal interest.
Now, 25 patients & 1 staff member have died. They have yet to release their infection number.
Having been there, I'd estimate 250 residents. If it's more, it can't be much more.
So, even if my number is way low, at least 1 in 15 residents have died from CV19. Could be as high as 10%.
City's mayor is calling on the state to investigate their practices. City doesn't have jurisdiction in Illinois.
City has 160,000 people so there's lots of nursing home/convo care centers. Nobody else has reported over 1 death. Most are zero, in the whole county of 700k.
They did something WAY wrong.

A lot of nursing homes have been in the news for CoVID-related horror. Which one are you referring? hlthe2b Apr 2020 #1

I posted about it last week. Just updating.
I knew homes were susceptible, but this is a ridiculous death rate.
I know we can't extrapolate, but if we did, that city would have 12-16,000 deaths. Of course, it's a tiny fraction of that, with 26 from this one place.
Like I said, other such places are reporting 0 or 1 deaths, mostly zero.
And the 2 hospitals are not overwhelmed, so cases & deaths seem to be pretty well enumerated.
They closed county & city offices a few hours before Pritzker closed them statewide.
They weren't way ahead. I was on a jury on March 12. State took action the afternoon of the 13th.
My BiL is now at a place in our town. They went full "no visitors, no leaving the premises" on March 9.
I think he's safe there.

26 deaths now.
16 more positive tests. Place has been emptied of negative patients.
Just reported on WGN-TV.
