RCMP officer among 17 confirmed dead in Nova Scotia killing spree

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/rcmp-weapon-lockdown-portapique-1.5537598

RCMP say 17 people are dead, including one of their officers, after a man who at one point wore a police uniform and drove a mock-up cruiser went on a rampage across northern Nova Scotia in one of the deadliest killing sprees in Canadian history.

Police said Sunday night the suspected shooter, 51-year-old Gabriel Wortman, was killed after being intercepted by officers in Enfield, N.S.

RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki told CBC News Sunday evening the death toll stood at 16, plus the shooter, which surpasses the 14 victims killed in the 1989 Polytechnique massacre in Montreal.

Leather said the killings appear to be, "at least in part, very random in nature."

I'm in Ontario which is under a State of Emergency, and we have almost the largest number of infections/deaths - second only to Quebec.

While I see most in my small town of 2k observing the stay at home and social distancing thing, I have not seen ONE person yet to wear a mask in public.

As shortages increase, people displaced from their incomes by store/business/school closures etc., it is foolish not to realize that people not used to being around each other 24/7 are gonna have conflicts, anger and so on.

While it saddens me to think so, I expect to see more violence the longer this virus remains unbeaten . . .

I really thought one benefit of the stay at home order would be that mass shooters had no targets.

Looks like this guy found a way. What a world.
