WASHINGTON Former FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb said Monday that the U.S. most likely wont have broad-based coronavirus testing in place until September.
We're not going to be there. We're not going to be there in May, we're not going to be there in June, hopefully we'll be there by September, Gottlieb said in an interview on NBCs Today show.

(82,849 posts)It was not reassuring. Gottlieb kept going on and on about how crucial testing is, but widespread testing won't be available for months. But let's just go ahead and end the restrictions now and hope that without testing we'll be okay. "Let's see what happens" isn't really a plan for public health.
