Rep. Ocasio-Cortez shows she can walk it like she talks it in door-to-door food delivery effort

It would be easy, reasonable even, for a legislator in the country’s coronavirus epicenter to stay home. That’s especially true in New York's 14th congressional district, the pandemic’s hardest-hit community where Latinos and Black residents are disproportionately impacted, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who represents the district, said in social media video.

The congresswoman, however, chose to do more than protect herself. Along with advocating this week for more funding for small-business owners, she collected "small-dollar donations" and packed up hundreds of meals in her Bronx office to deliver to those in need. Then, the lawmaker took to the streets to help deliver food with a crew of volunteers. “Sometimes you just gotta take things into your own hands,” the congresswoman said in an Instagram caption on April 10.

Gloves and a mask is more than what people were wearing when I picked up my on line grocery order. I even offered the girl gloves because I had extra and she said she keeps tearing them. He nails you know. After that I decided I will go in and get my groceries.
