"SNIP.....

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made clear in an interview on Wednesday that she doesn’t intend to let Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell play a hypocritical, shift-the-goal-posts game on the next rescue-and-recovery bill.

And despite McConnell’s backsliding, she insisted that such a bill will become law, partly because it will be in President Trump’s interest to get it done.

.......

The components of the next rescue bill, she said, would include federal assistance to state and local governments and an increase in food stamp payments. The House will also push for rental and mortgage assistance, help for the unemployed who have lost job-based health insurance to stay on their employer plans and funds to rescue the postal system.

Other provisions would help states improve their unemployment insurance systems, provide funding for universal voting by mail in November’s elections, and establish stronger health protections and hazard pay for those on the front lines of the response to the coronavirus. “We call it our heroes bill,” she said, to support those “who make our society work, who are risking their own lives to save other people’s lives.”

She doesn’t control the Senate or the presidential veto power.

Republicans always control the narrative, the MSM is right wing. What next bill? Isn't McConnell taking a 1 month vacation?

Why weren't these bills originating in the House? Shouldn't Democrats have demanded that? I just don't get why Democrats keep giving money to rich people? The Fed and central banks are giving them trillions, even bailing out junk bonds. Trump found a way to build his fence. It's fence, I wish everyone would stop calling it a wall. Man do they control the narrative.

Speaker Pelosi knows what the game is, and how to play the game. This has all the popular, needed, and necessary items that make sense to any thinking American, and calling it the Heroes Bill is all the more popular. She is daring Mitch to oppose these measures in his reelection window. This bill is aimed right at the Senate GOP majority, and right at the majority leader. She will likely get some of it, but Mitch has to make the right sounds to kowtow to the Right and the Russian. This may be the bill that drives Republicans from power in the Senate.

She definitely knows how to play hardball. She doesn't "cave" -- she negotiates, and she wins.
