From the article:
Trump said:
And on July 4th, well be doing what we had at the mall, as you know. Last year was a tremendous success. And I would imagine well do it. Hopefully, I can use the term forever. That was a great success, as you remember, even though it was pouring. It was raining so hard. It was raining about as hard as Ive seen in a while. But it was an amazing success. Didnt bother the pilots. Didnt bother the military. Didnt bother the crews we had there. Were going to be doing it again on July 4th.

(12,712 posts)He lacks any response to empathy, (the reason I say that is that some new studies show that sociopaths have more empathy or sensitivity to others than we thought, they it just doesn't "bother them" like it does us.)
Let's see, many more scores of people will be mourning their dead by then, and he wants to throw a big bash to celebrate? That's not patriotic.
A truly caring head of state would be talking much differently and the 4th most likely would not be an appropriate talking point right now. That is tasteless and heartless. Plus, by that time we may be so mired in the Greatest Depression that July 4th will be more of a somber occasion for many reasons.
