The University of Texas/Texas Tribune internet survey of 1,200 registered voters was conducted from April 10-19 and has an overall margin of error of +/- 2.83 percentage points. Numbers in charts might not add up to 100% because of rounding.

I suspect if it was likely voters it would be much closer, if not tied. Trump's hardcore base will show up but probably not the moderates.

Absent rush hour traffic, it would take me an hour 45 to get there.
I'm 4 hours from StL at 60.
Since I'm not one to drive fast, don't know I've ever taken that drive at 70+ the whole time.
Used to visit StL for 3 customer sites, where I worked on joint development projects for years.
Used to stay in Collinsville because a guy I played in a band with lived there. He was a HS teacher in ESL. I'd visit him, too.

In the overall struggle it would be of benefit to make the enemy play defense in Texas. Without it their entire position falls. Resources would have to be committed to shore it up, which could be employed elsewhere to try and hold recent gains.

A 5 point deficit is not much to believe in, it still leaves texas trump.
North carolina is trending trump as well, bad news for a battleground.

What is much better news is in arizona and florida:
Arizona: Trump vs. Biden OH Predictive Insights Biden 52, Trump 43 Biden +9

Florida: Trump vs. Biden St. Pete Polls Biden 48, Trump 48 Tie
Florida: Trump vs. Biden UNF Biden 46, Trump 40 Biden +6
Florida: Trump vs. Biden FOX News Biden 46, Trump 43 Biden +3
Florida: Trump vs. Biden Quinnipiac Biden 46, Trump 42 Biden +4

But it is trending purple and then blue.

It is demographically slipping away from republicans and they know it.
