Melania Trump's "Empty-worded Corona virus tweet" draws criticism. .....Where has Melania been?

Source:Huff Post

First Lady MelaniaTrump faced backlash for her "thoughts and prayers" tweet to the victims of the Corona virus pancemic on Friday..

Her tweet ....."Our thoughts & prayers continue to be w/each person suffering from this terrible virus, & with all of the families who have lost loved ones.
Even though we are physically apart, we are in this fight together."

While I personally do not find her tweet empty worded, I find the timing troubling. All this time she could have been in the media publicly heading a National Food drive to assist families, pressing for testing, pressing to get needed PPEs needed by front-line workers in this fight, and more. Her absence is notable.

Someone on her staff likely was given the assignment to put out something and they came up with that routine message.

and even if she did, Trump would object to her doing anything helpful or affirmative.

Remember the previous First Family?
Oh, well. It's like reading a fantasy novel, imagining how the Obamas would have tackled this crisis.

No "First Lady" was elected by the people. Why do we expect the wife of the president to take up a bunch of causes? Why should they work for free? Sometimes they have a life, profession, career that they have to give up to be in the White House. If they don't want to play along, fine. Michelle Obama was a natural and seemed to enjoy her work, but not every one has her skills, talent, and charisma.

An outspoken activist in the role actually *did* get elected, in the sense that s/he was a part of what people voted for (or against).

On the other hand, Melania's role in the campaign was basically arm candy. She should have stuck with that.

She is part of the immense problem of privilege and greed. Along with the words and actions of her husband, she too is a laughingstock amongst the First Ladies who are going to be remembered for their genorosity, empathy, compassion. Often First Ladies reflect their husband's aspirations for the country. This is not the case here.

Not the healthcare and safety employees who have inadequate PPE
Not the essential farmers, grocers, restaurants who keep us nourished
Not the states who scrounge for necessary supplies and tests, transport them covertly to avoid confiscation by Trump’s team.
Certainly not the entrepreneurs and factories who converted, isolated their employees and worked long hours away from families to compensate for an inadequate Presidential response to an evolving pandemic that was announcing itself with a megaphone
Certainly not with those who have no income, no health insurance but lots of bills
Certainly not those who cannot be with their loved ones in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, nor with those who are dying of COVID
Certainly not with those who could share their grief at a memorial service for their loved one.

All because her of her husband’s incompetence

Trump wouldn't have her out doing any national food drive or getting PPE's. Hell, he's trying to kill people, and he sure wouldn't want her to HELP anyone!
