8. In Under 3 Months
Sat Apr 25, 2020, 12:33 PM
Apr 2020

Vietnam was more than 16 years from first to last death.
First was 2 days before I was born in 1956. Didn't know that until very recently.
Until recently, first death was set at Feb 29.
Now, there's evidence of a CV death 3 weeks prior. Still less than 3 months.
And, it's way worse now. Per Worldometer, we had ~9k dead on April 3. 42,000 in 22 days.
If we lost 1,900 a day in Vietnam, that war would have ended in 3 months. The people would have pitchforked the WH.

I should get right on that.

That is a relevant question to determine if people died because of covid-19 or with covid-19.

5. News says highest percentage dead from covid-19 were in nursing homes.

That is a huge factor. Who is living in nursing homes? People with serious issues, physical or mental.
My mother-in-law is currently in a nursing homes. I have visited her place a few times. Residents are either very old (M-I-L is 93)
or have reached senility. If one person catches covid-19 infection, it will spread like wild fire in the nursing home because the residents are not capable of practicing simple precautions as not touching face with unwashed hands.

I was on a cruise which ended on February 29th. It was sully sold out crowded ship. The working staff was either from China or Indonesia or Philippines.
But I avoided getting sick by washing hands relentlessly after touching anything in public areas. So what if I am 80 years old, I know prevention techniques.

7. A death certificate often lists multiple contributors

to the ultimate cause of death.

The end result listed on that of my father was an a nebulous, inarguable, "failure to thrive." Alzheimer's and kidney failure were listed as contributors.

Not every corpse is tested, nor is every death in which it was present attributed directly to it.

We'll never know the exact toll.

10. You are right, it is a big hodgepodge !!

I am in that category of seriously vulnerable having reached ripe old age of 80.
But I have tried to lead as normal life as possible, taking in a cruise ending Feb 29th with all Asian crew aboard,
been to grocery stores many times to buy necessities, filled gas a few times touching the most possibly contaminated pump nozzle.
My main precaution is to NEVER TOUCH FACE without washing hands with soap, and it seems to be working.

We have to remember not to become lax on hygiene going forward.

Also, please accept my hearty congratulations upon the 50th anniversary of your citizenship.

and now it is 50 glorious years later...still kicking.
I don't think I would have lived this long in good health in any other country.
We have the best country to stay healthy and live long with just a tiny bit of good luck and diligent effort to go along with.

Have a wonderful and happy day wherever you are.

but to experience it unexpectedly early largely because of one man and his maladministration's utter lack of intelligence and appropriate action is unnatural, and tragic.

200 X 24 X 365 = 1.752 MILLION deaths in a year from covid-19?

I am hearing 60,000 projected total deaths from covid-19 in 2020.
