woman, one time only? Other women surely would've step up if there were.
Reade is lying, and getting paid for it.

(3,433 posts)the fact that she only recently made a police report but declined to name Biden as the perpetrator - definitely fishy.

(33,643 posts)And never alleged anything apart from 'inappropriate touching' for ... 37 years since it supposedly happened? The suddenly in March of this year ... he digitally penetrated her, way back then?
The idea that Biden touched her hair or something in a way that made her uncomfortable is not terribly difficult to believe given his personality. But that is not 'sexual assault'.
I don't think this woman is 'all there' as the saying goes.

(8,964 posts)in which the Reade's mother notes that her daughter had been victimized by a prominent but unnamed senator. This was during the time that Sen. Bob Packwood (Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee) was involved in serial offenses against female staffers. He eventually resigned in 1995 after owning up to his actions. Not saying with any certainty that these were the circumstances related to the interview, but 27 years on it would serve as a perfect retrofit to name Joe Biden as "that guy".

(13,594 posts)New York Times' radio show "The Daily" did a piece on the recently-made serious allegations. Their reporter, Lisa Lerer, has been looking into this for a long time including multiple lengthy interviews with Reade and many others. The allegations seem to fall apart under scrutiny. Here's a link to the podcast:

Of note is that the women who work on "the hill" do talk to each other and they all know, and share with each other, which men are creeps. To a person, they all categorized Biden as "one of the good guys."

(16 posts)All sexual assault claims must be investigated. Is this not what we screamed at the top of our lungs, continuously, during the Kavanaugh hearings? Anyone remember #BelieveEveryWoman ??
Even Joe (rightly) said this in a Washington Post Interview (17 Sept 2018):
"Speaking generally, Biden added, For a woman to come forward in the glaring lights of focus, nationally, youve got to start off with the presumption that at least the essence of what shes talking about is real, whether or not she forgets facts, whether or not its been made worse or better over time. But nobody fails to understand that this is like jumping into a cauldron.
Are we now saying that Joe does not believe this? Do we believe it, or do our previous beliefs no longer apply because they are being directed at our candidate?
This hypocrisy cannot be. For the sake of our daughters, anyone's daughters, we must hold to our integrity. These claims must be investigated with the same intensity, no matter who they are directed against.
