I'm there defending him against a slew of (mostly) angry berners, but he needs MORE ASAP. I'm new to Twitter, I do my best but it's a matter of numbers. Like it or not, social media matters!

(28,859 posts)I didn't see anything unusual.
I was a Sanders supporter since Sanders has always
had the best message.
However, I am a realist; and Biden now has my full
support!
My sister, on the other hand... she is a rabid Bernie
fan and doesn't like Biden at all because she thinks
he's a rapist.
She is not being rational in any sense. But you can't
argue with irrational people.

This one is bad:

(2,042 posts)Just a bunch of dead enders and russian bots. You'll drive yourself crazy trying to push back the turds in that sewer.

(7,724 posts)and they started to outnumber us. It would take away a gathering place, make us less likely to come here, interact, depress enthusiasm, demoralize. It's psychological. Hate to say it but many folks of my generation (I'm the tail end of the baby boom) and older don't understand how important social media is.
HarlanPepper
(2,042 posts)These are highly sophisticated troll and bot operations that attempt to elicit responses to amplify their messaging. It's not just a bunch of old white incel types from the gulf coast.

(7,724 posts)Some are just paid agitators but many are not. I've gotten threads taken down on FB because of my effective responses. It's not about making me feel good, it's about doing smart things to make us more likely to win in Nov. It's something we can all do, just sitting on our asses, to make a difference. Every little bit helps.

(2,042 posts)Like I said, go for it. Just not something I'd waste a moment of my time on. I'd rather make small recurring monetary contributions to the Biden campaign, which i have been doing.
Sugarcoated
(7,724 posts)That's always been the case, look what happened to Gore and Kerry. I give recurring $$ as well.

(2,042 posts)Like I said, have at it.

(12,265 posts)I know a few, they really believe that Bernie should have finished the "plan" to destroy the party and blow up the system so they could swoop in and "save America". This isn't all of them, but the ones who aren't like that need to start calling them out. We are fighting for our country right now, not some "revolution".

(12,265 posts)I don't buy the idea that these are not actually people. The ones I know are spoiled rotten, they want their way or no way.

(1,609 posts)I see the numbers. Biden is bringing people out to vote. Biden vs Bernie was a huge blow out in almost every state.

(37,748 posts)as long as we realize that that same pretense fools no one but ourselves.

(7,724 posts)But not this time. Overconfidence is foolish and naive, part of what sunk Hillary 2016.
Sugarcoated
(7,724 posts)at least that's not the point of my OP. The point is to defend Biden on his social media platforms, stand up for the truth. Or push back on what to me, is RW/LW/Russian propaganda/rat fucking/smear.
