At least two of her friends at the time, including one who had lost contact with her, report at the time she did say that she had been harassed and then had to leave a senator's staff. Interestingly, one of the women corroborating her talking about this 27 years ago still says she's going to vote for Joe Biden.

I don't think the more disturbing accusations were specified, but something clearly did happen back in 1993. The Larry King call-in show incident Reade says came from her mother is too peculiar to be just a coincidence. Reade herself is not a credible witness. But there's circumstantial evidence to at least warrant further inquiry.

This accusation is definitely costing Joe support among young women. I have at least three female friends who say they don't want to "choose between two rapists"

The questions is whether the facts are true or not, not "if it's true why did she wait so long?" There's any number of reasons why a victim of assault may choose not to go public with it until many years later.

Ditto "why was she praising Biden 18 months ago and accusing him now?" Why did some of Michael Jackson's victims testify in his favor in his earlier trials? They were still brainwashed or they didn't want their careers ruined. It doesn't mean that the assault didn't happen.
