Donald Trump Has Turned Me Into a Prepper

To me, this is a good time to at least make sure you have some backups of food, water and other necessities. That does not mean going whole hog extremist, but it is always prudent to have some emergency supplies in any case. This situation just makes it more crucial. A bug out bag is also a good idea.

David Pakman is getting more concerned and with good reason:

Weird but seems like a good idea for weird times that might come.

That can feel good just to know its there in case, even.

There is nothing worse than being caught empty handed when it counts.

In the beginning of this I started panicking about having enough, and I did an inventory and realized I could go at least three months, without rationing. Now I'm thinking like you. Then what?

Even now, I'm debating whether going out today is better than going out in two weeks. Every time I stock up, I just kick the can down the road to a time when it may be even more dangerous to go out.

What to do?

We can't be prophets about this and that's the first thing that does come to people's minds.

Now, if you avoid the extreme, in my bunker advice, you can look around online for sensible suggestions of how much to have, what to stock and how long it will last.

Maybe go with a minimum, first? There are phases of potential shortages, etc. It depends on the emergency.

I would say that having two-weeks of supplies is minimum for each person. That can help if there is a major storm or outages, etc.

Keep in mind that you may have to rotate stocks, the longer your supplies are meant to last.

One way to look at it, is that, if you need more than the three to six months of preps, then things are so bad other solutions will be needed, if you see what I mean. I mean, that's a long emergency and who knows how that would turn out, right? You can't really plan for a protracted or endless one, so that's just being practical.

I started getting stocked up when OrangeAss got elected, and have increasingly been doing more.

This reminds me to go get some water refills. I have no trust that anything is going to be okay now.

is food/water. In that respect, I will "prep" for
having at least 3 months of food on hand at all times.
Beans, rice, pasta, oatmeal, etc.

I saw that SNL skit with Kate McKinnon as Hillary and the cue cards. After dump was elected, I felt defeated and decided that the only way to help combat my depression was to do something proactive, so I decided that I would add to the everyday list of products and get a couple extra when shopping.

Water filtration kit, medical supplies (i actually had a good stock due to taking care of my Mom) and pantry staples...etc.

Sometimes a label is just a label, not an insult. I was a Scout as a young boy, so being prepared was kind of schooled into me.
