Why wearing a mask in public is important

https://www.localsyr.com/news/local-news/onondaga-co-reports-potential-covid-19-exposures-at-east-syracuse-walmart-and-on-greyhound-bus-from-nyc/

"According to Onondaga County’s Health Department, someone who recently tested positive for COVID-19 visited the Walmart located at 6438 Basile Rowe in East Syracuse on Tuesday, April 28.

The health department says the person who was at the Walmart with COVID-19 was not wearing a mask on that day.

If you were at the East Syracuse Walmart between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., you do not need to self quarantine. However, the health department asks you to monitor yourself for COVID-19 symptoms for 14 days after you visited the Walmart.

If symptoms develop, contact your primary health care provider or the Upstate Triage Hotline at 315-464-3979."

I added the bold. One person possibly 100's infected with a potentially deadly virus.

I just came back from Costco, and despite a big, conspicuous sign where you come in saying members won't be admitted without a mask, I saw several people wandering around without one.

It really pisses me off that some people think they don't need to worry about this....grrr.

I think that the people not wearing masks fall into only a couple different categories:

1). They didn't pay ANY ATTENTION AT ALL in biology class, and haven't learned a fucking thing since.

2) They don't think it will affect them, because they think it is all overblown. In other words, Fox News consumers.

The stupid half of this country that is insisting their rights are being violated because they are being asked to wear a mask or simply do as public health experts suggest, will make sure that when all is said and done, a half million people will be dead from this AT LEAST.

That's my wager. 500,000 dead by the summer of 2021 directly as a result of COVID-19.

"Merica! We're number one! In the number of fucking idiots, anyway.

Wear a mask and/or otherwise protect yourself until there is a vaccine, plain and simple. This isn't going away any time soon and it still has a lot of people to kill.

Think of it this way:
If both of you are naked and one pees, you both get wet.
If only one of you is wearing pants, you could both still get wet.
If both of you are wearing pants only one gets wet.

Understand?

Keep your droplets (mostly) contained in your masks, people.

Every little bit helps, and it’s not like a major sacrifice!

My response will be.."Excusem me! Did I ask you for your opinion?"

I will not use profanity, raise my voice, or denigrate people. If my response is offensive to people, I will give them my "GO FUCK YOURSELF" look without saying a word.
