HANGHAI, May 4 (Reuters) - China has published a short animation titled "Once Upon a Virus" mocking the U.S. response to the new coronavirus using Lego-like figures to represent the two countries.
Washington and Beijing are locked in a war of words over the origins of the disease which emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan late last year and has spread to become a global pandemic.
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday he was confident the coronavirus may have originated in a Chinese virology lab, but declined to describe the evidence.
In the animation posted online by China's official Xinhua news agency, red curtains open to reveal a stage featuring Lego-like figures in the form of a terracotta warrior wearing a face mask and the Statue of Liberty.

(44,973 posts)in fact were going to increase our chances of getting infected?
We were told to hand wash. And specifically told not to wear masks. While good hand hygiene is not going to hurt, what is it going to do against an airborne virus?

(44,973 posts)But presumably a lot of other people did. And if you are the only one out in public wearing a mask, it's not a comfortable feeling. It's a lot easier to wear a mask if many others do. So when government tells it citizens to specifically not to wear mask, even if you don't believe it, you are not likely to wear it. I have seen very few people (mostly from Asia, where it's common) early on wearing masks in public.
