To save the life of one person..

To save the life of one embryo, a woman must go to a doctor multiple times, get stripped below the waist, lie on her back with legs spread, while someone feels her body and rubs a cold jelly on her abdomen.
She has to give up drinking wine or other alcohol for nine months.
If she is unlucky, she may be stuck on bed rest for months.
She has to carry around 10 or 20 pounds for months.
She may have trouble sleeping, for months.
Her formerly slim body may feel uncomfortable and swollen, and she may have back trouble or stretch marks or numerous other side effects.
She may randomly have to rush to a hospital in case of contractions.
She may have to pay someone to take care of her other kids, or her dog or cat, while in the hospital.
If her pregnancy resulted from rape or an abusive relationship, she gets to spend many months in emotional turmoil.
She will either have to have someone cut into her abdomen or else she will have to spend hours in pain going through a process that may leave her torn or even dead.
She may have to pay thousands of dollars at delivery.
She can’t fly on airplanes for the last month.
The time she takes to be pregnant, give birth, and recover may cause to miss out on career opportunities.
She will have to choose whether to take full responsibility for the person for 18 years, including legal, medical and financial responsibility, or to hand over a newborn baby to someone else.
Her body will never be the same.
Her brain will never be the same, either, because the brain gets re-wired and flooded with hormones.

But at least she won’t lose her freedom. At least she won’t have to do the one truly horrible thing that is too much to ask to save the life of one person (or 10, or 100, or 1000, if it starts a series of transmissions). At least she won’t have to wear a mask.
