Trump was one of the luckiest men ever to live until he came face to face with this virus.

During his entire life Trump lived in this unbelievable bubble. Everything was handed to him. He learned he could cheat and lie about anything and get away with it because he had dirty lawyers to protect him. He had the money to pay his way out of all the mistakes he made. Blackmail became his favorite past time.

Then Trump was confronted with a virus, he did what he always done. He tried to lie his way out of it. He blackmailed people to keep their months shut, he blackmailed people to due his bidding. Trump knows no other way. Doing things the right way takes too much effort, too much work. One could argue, Trump is one of the laziest assholes that ever lived.

Trumps response to the pandemic has failed completely and he cannot fix it. This failure led to an economic collapse. Trumps response to the economic crisis has also failed. He cannot fix it.

The next six months are going to be very bad for Trump. All of his mistakes, lies that have killed thousands of Americans are on video. His promise (lie) the economy will recover soon and be better than ever, is on video.

No matter what Trump does he cannot fix the economy in the next six months. He will lie about it but that won't work. The airline industry is not coming back in the next six months, the car industry is not coming back in the next six months, the housing market is not coming back, thousands of small businesses are never coming back.

Cruise ships are not coming back, tourism is not coming back, sports arenas are not coming back in the next six months. The list goes on and on.

By the time the election comes in November, no amount of cheating may be able to save Trump from bleeding out and dying. Time will tell.

as you say, he's completely incapable of actually fixing these problems, or even helping to fix them. and a lot of his shitty irresponsible toddleresque behavior is caught on video.

if he planned to run on his actual record, i'd agree -- it's beyond dismal, he'd lose hard.

but that's not what he does -- from the beginning, he's addressed this as a PR problem because that is his primary strength. he can't fix the problems, but he can distort them and shift blame. once he shifts blame he can refocus public sentiment on retribution and vengeance against his chosen scapegoats.

he's a master of failing upward, the greatest con man i've seen working the rubes in my lifetime, maybe the most successful grifter who's ever lived. he's got followers who will take up weapons and march on state capitols demanding mass human sacrifice to appease the market gods and for the glory of their high priest.

cheating might not win it for him, but it's the laziest strategy so guaranteed his campaign will double down on cheating like hell. they'll also rely on their cult-building PR techniques and voter intimidation of various kinds.
