* is damaged. Some by no fault of his own, but by his harmful formative years. However, he is damaging our country and its inhabitants. I don't forecast/see any change toward the positive.
I will not give any answers here. Only admit the unspoken content of my day and night petitioning to the Lord of Hosts.

(53,410 posts)when you are accountable for your actions. Blaming your parents or your upbringing becomes a self indulgent one person pity party. We all make deliberate and conscious choices about our actions. No one else does it for us. We are accountable for everything we do, or dont do. Its a choice we make.

He has choices, but his mechanism won't bring him to anything of worth, just destruction of other people and things.
I agree. Any of us could find a reason to behave badly if we look hard enough. There's a point in life where we should decide that we're not going to let our past define our future.
Put a period and move on.

If anyone looks within their family structure, consisting of at least several people whom one has known most of their lives, one realizes that much of the personality is inborn, and life - parents, siblings, circumstances- can influence for good or bad.
The real fault lies within the voters who elevated the inexperienced, incompetent person to the office he holds, and, I'm sorry to say, to the flaw in our system of government, the Electoral College.

(6,251 posts)We were talking about COVID-19 in the White House, and about the possibility that Trump and Pence might come down with it. We both want to see them come down with it, but we both feel very uncomfortable with the thought of wanting someone to become ill, to suffer. It's tough having religious training and a functioning conscience these days.
We never came to a conclusion. We feel bad about it, but it's hard to stop wishing misery on two such miserable people. All I can do is ask for forgiveness.
