Mitch McConnell is pushing the Senate to pass a measure that would let the FBI collect Americans' web-browsing history without a warrant

• The Senate is expected to vote Wednesday to renew the 2001 Patriot Act, and Mitch McConnell is pushing an amendment to the law that would expand the FBI's surveillance powers.

• An amendment proposed by McConnell would, for the first time ever, let the FBI collect records on Americans' web-browsing and search histories without a warrant.

• Another amendment drafted by McConnell would give the attorney general more oversight of FBI investigations into political operatives, like the recent FBI investigation into the Trump campaign.

• A bipartisan group of senators proposed a measure to block the FBI from accessing people's web-browsing history without a warrant, but it failed by one vote on Wednesday.

A Democratic-led FBI under this rule could browse the activity of all Republicans in public office. All their little sex fetishes, treatments for VD, online stock trades, extra-marital affairs in motel rooms in Bethesda, whatever.

Do Republicans want the FBI to have THAT kind of power? No wonder some of them voted against it.

That's some Patriot Act level bullshit right there. All these damn Republicans all over the country pitching tempter tantrums and carrying their guns like security blankets and they will say nary a peep about this. I don't ever want to hear one more of those pieces of shit say a goddamn thing about civil rights being violated if they don't speak up against this. Then again, they claim to be pro life, but cannot wait to shoot up another mall, school, or black person just for existing. EWB Existing While Black.

Besides, what country or group could cause us more damage than we have to ourselves for the last 17+ years.
