talk radio is the only major medium that operates outside normal free speech feedback, unchallenged, so it's perfect to do the groundwork repetition to establish the lies. i'm beginning to think many of the free speech 'purists' that pretend rw talk radio is an expression of market demand are trolls.
soviets like putin hated voice of america and would have recognized how well rw radio was working here. all he had to do was figure out how to feed limbauagh. i will bet the mueller report redactions have something to do with talk radio.
too bad guys like brennan don't mention tallk radio specifically to get media onto the clues - like asking sam nunberg about when he said he "listened to 1000s of hours of talk radio" and 'reported' to trump in 2014 - the same year a russian troll says they "got a list of topics to write about"
all dems should be pointing to it, but guys llike chris hayes can interview daavid plouffe about media and trump propaganda and only mention fox and sinclair - which a second rate compared with talk radio (the can't lie as much, can't be as racist, can't be locally coordinated, and are actually part of the free speech spectrum).
there's a perfect storm brewing and heading at talk radio and it wouldn't take much activism to dismantle it before the elections
1) limbaugh is likely dying and the ad industry won't be able to replace him - they have to be thinking about what those 600 major stations are going to do (he's the last guy to expect a 'miracle', altho if it has to do with virgins' blood....)
2) all those stations are heavily responsible for enabling the trump COVID treason/incompetence (putin/elections?) that has increased deaths and jobs losses
3) artificial intelligence/transcription advances make it easy and cheap to record transcribe and list advertisers without listening - a stoprush x 100 is possible
4) that will expose not only advertisers but also shame the 87 universities a lot of those stations depend on to keep broadcasting sports on them - to attract advertisers
5) that makes it easy to force the ad industry to have to ask advertisers if they really support covid and global warming denial and trump
6) advertisers will head for the hills - the ad industry wants those ears those stations reach and it will have to preemptively force democratization of the talk radio monopoly to avoid that
7) if it happens soon, and it can, limbaugh and trump will lose their ability to intimidate GOP senators, they lose control of the unified but vastly overestimated trump dittohead base. and they will also have to change their tune if limbaugh and sons aren't there next year to make excuses for the disaster they pushed on us by letting trump go - they can force him to resign or vote him out if dem congress moves again
at this point americans have to assume he'll do anything to win and/or avoid jail. to continue to allow those stations to keep dominating the messaging in 40 states with 80 senators, especially in a national emergency caaused by a covid second wave, or something else, is incredibly suicidal and monumentally stupid for a democracy
