I had to make an emergency run to Big Lots to get cat litter. As long as I was there, and the store was pretty much empty of shoppers, I checked the 'personal care' aisle, not expecting to find anything They had HYDROGEN PEROXIDE!! No other place I've checked has had it. Then one of the stocking clerks came by and tipped me off that they had also just gotten in a shipment of hand sanitizer. It was at check out, still in the shipping boxes. So, I scored one of those, too.
So I count this as a very good day. Now to get back to work making masks.

(58,653 posts)The thermometer I ordered has yet to arrive. That was actually the first thing I ordered.
I hope your order ships faster than mine did.

(17,984 posts)Date arrival, July 1st, 22nd. But they have already shipped.
Walmart, ordered same day, May 22nd. I plan on sharing.

(58,653 posts)Always seemed kind of dumb to me. But then, when I look for something, I tend to buy what I'm looking for, so these companies are filling my spam folder advertising for shit I already bought.

(17,984 posts)Ordered from Walmart, along with alcohol, other things. Insurance gives us $70 per quarter for over the counter drugs.

I've gone back to online retailers I haven't used in several years to find things I can't find in stock in the grocery stores. I end up buying a bit more than intended to get free or more reasonable shipping fees, but it is worth it.

(26,262 posts)I always shop during the 'vulnerable shoppers' time so there's never any crowds or waiting, where I go. And, it feels so good to get out of the house, and interact with people. I love my little Sophie Stinky Toes, but our conversations are pretty one-sided. She bitches at me and I nod and agree that I'm the worst cat mom on the planet. As I feed her treats.
However, the time may come when it will be smarter to make that switch. I'm retired so I'm home for any deliveries so I really have no excuse not to give it a try.

(17,984 posts)But I am really enjoying online shopping. No trotting from store to store, come home empty handed.
JC Penney filing for bankruptcy. I loved ordering from there.

(31,388 posts)Every spring, for years, we made a trip for new summer shorts. For awhile, when shanty pants were all the rage for guys about 15 years ago, it was the only place I could find them for my one son who wouldn't wear anything else.
True Blue American
(17,984 posts)My Grandson still wears them I did buy him one pair at Kohls.

(31,388 posts)Kohls became the go to place for jeans for them. They have a great selection and often I would get a 30% discount from a coupon in the mail.

(17,984 posts)A 30% coupon. He wears shorts to College, I think, even Walmart where he is working this summer. They kept him on as an Employee from last year taking school break. Not all bad.

(35,332 posts)I was wearing them now I find they are not good because they have a air valve on them. I went for blood work last week
and they gave me one of the ones that hooks around your ears. Every time I go shopping I look for Lysol, gloves, masks, Lysol wipes
and even Clorox now and find all the shelves are empty. The only thing I do see is some toilet paper.

(26,262 posts)I also just got a 15% off an entire purchase coupon from them. The last time I was there, their shelves weren't well stocked in ANY department but I'm putting that on my list.
No doubt it's just blind luck to find some of these health and hygiene products.

(13,904 posts)I mix my own hand sanitizer with peroxide, alcohol and a bit of Aloe. Keep a bottle in the house and one in the car. First thing I do when I get back in the car is sanitize my hands and anything I touched... People places and things will get you sick... Limit exposure time to these things also..
YMMV

I keep smiling at helpful people. They can not see that!

(26,262 posts)I also keep hand sanitizer in my car, and a little bottle, along with some sanitizing wipes, in what ever bag I carry. Then, as soon as I get home, I do a very good hand scrubbing and do another after putting things away. My mask gets thoroughly washed in hot, very soapy water and then hung up to dry.
And now I'm spending pretty much every day outside, digging in the soil, so my immune system isn't getting a real break from fighting off germs and bacteria and the sunlight is boosting my Vitamin D levels. I'm convinced that people spending years over-sanitizing themselves could be a factor in how raging this virus has overwhelmed some, while not others. Admittedly, I could be wrong but it makes sense to me.

(13,904 posts)And amazingly it's the same price!!! No gouging... I have made some tinctures before with the 151 everclear Nothing with cannabis though... How would you use a Cannabis tincture? 151 burns like crazy.. The good thing about using the 151 everclear is that after this virus thing is over (hope, hope) is that you can make some pretty stiff cocktails when your done.. Can't do that with isopropyl alcohol... In some states you can get 190 proof everclear.. Real flammable stuff!!

(11,949 posts)Keep it in a small spray bottle in my truck. Spray my hands, keys and cell phone well before ever removing or touching my mask. Spray down the mask as well.
Might now be great for the hands. But I work outside and with tools all the time. They are pretty much a lost cause. I guess lotion might help but never liked the stuff.
