he simply sends them an invitation to appear first. Subpoenas are usually issued when someone refuses the invitations — to legally compel them to appear. But nope, here we’re straight on to the subpoenas — as if they’ve already refused, to make it look like they’ve got something to hide.

Brennan, Clapper, and Comey should just make statements saying that there’s no need for a subpoena, they’d be happy to appear, in fact they’d be delighted to spend several hours on live tv testifying about what a crook Mike Flynn is while Marco Rubio tries to outwit them.
