My mom drove to a place to see if she could get tested.

Here in VA.

They had a couple days of come on over and drive by and we will test you.

the testing was scheduled from 10-6

people lined up super early. cops were there directing traffic.

first car goes in at 10. by 1130 they roped off the line after counting out to a certain car and that was it. they could only test that many people until 6pm. anyone behind that line and anyone who showed up the next 6 hours were sent home.

what happened to 'anyone who wants a test can get a test'?

not here they cant.

2. I just watched a BBC video of Trump boasting about the huge numbers of cases in this country

Saying that's because so many people have been tested. I only know two - my dentist and her assistant. Fortunately, they were both negative and not suffering from symptoms, but she felt it was a good idea since she's still seeing patients who really need to come in. And they're both in the capital city, Albany, NY.

There are 330,000,000 people living in this country
We have only tested the equivalent of 3.7%.
Around 12,000,000 tests according to Johns Hopkins.
Not 12,000,000 people just 12,000,000 tests because
a lot of frontline health workers have been tested
multiple times.

Highest single day number of tests has been in the 400,000’s

On Edit:
Using updated numbers.
U.S. Population: 331,002,651
CV Testing as of 5/20/20: 12,609,232
Percentage of Testing/Population: 3.81%

5/20 had the highest tests performed to date: 413,643

5. In Sullivan County, NY

A couple of weeks ago, my wife called the health department in Sullivan County in upstate New York to see if we could get tested. The official told us to go to the regional hospital and we could be tested without an appointment.

Four days later we were called with the results: both of us were negative.

It was easy, the procedure took mere seconds but the data collection, (health info, address, etc.) took about 15 minutes.

There was one caveat. While a positive result would be 100% accurate, a negative result was only about 60% accurate. In any event, we're comfortable with the results because we've been self-isolated since the beginning of March and we've taken many precautions since then.

At the moment, I'm happy to be a New Yorker. We have state and local governments providing good information and good health care. I'm concerned for other Americans who live where their governments aren't as proactive.

When he got sick, he could not get a test because his fever wasn't high enough. He recovered after several days. Did he have it?

have tried here in NE Indiana - we don't meet the criteria.

Back when Kemp opened Georgia, I thought about going down there because he said we could get a test.

We aren't exhibiting symptoms, but both are back and work and feel we need to know if we're asymptomatic carriers.

There was never near enough testing sites and now the government is closing the few it opened earlier. They are killing us on purpose.

And a lot of the others also. After all, the test only indicates status as of the date done.

I came down with my first-ever pneumonia about 3 weeks ago. Not knowing what it was, I called our county health department here in Florida, on Thursay I think, for a COVID test and was told I'd be called and given an appointment to be tested the next week. They did call on Saturday to make the appointment, but by then I'd been admitted to the hospital (COVID ward until ruled out). I didn't imagine the test taking place in a line of cars but...? It'd probably be better than walking in, but for sure having an appointment somewhat more specific than "10-6" would.
