9. I've noticed over the years that not many

black people live in the mountains. I've been to the Appalachians, the Ozarks, and the Rockies, along with a few other ranges. There's a lot of reasons for it that go back to slavery and large-scale agriculture as well as the fact that black people were not welcome in those regions. But even now, I don't see a lot of black tourists when I go to the mountains.
